Sworn to the Queen

Anyone who touches the queen dies, yet she assigns the soldier nobody wanted to guard her bed chamber, and not because of his sword.

Checked on Candy, 26 October 2026

In short

  • An open series: episodes 1 and 2 cost nothing.
  • 5 episodes; finishing it costs 36 tokens ($3.60).
  • Themes: royalty, fantasy.

The setup

In this kingdom, touching the Queen means execution. Kale, a stable hand sneered at on arrival in the Queensguard, is promised manure duty by nightfall. The Queen has other plans. She asks his name, remarks that no one else wanted him, and assigns him to her chamber that very night. He is sworn to protect her, forbidden to touch her, and about to learn how carefully she has read the wording. A royal marriage is also waiting in the wings.

What the free episodes show

It opens with the death penalty for touching the Queen, then a sneer at the stable hand who has landed in the Queensguard. Instead of stable duty, the Queen claims him. Alone in her chamber she asks why he thinks she chose him, and he guesses his sword arm. Her answer is that he looks back at her. She points out that the law binds him but not her, notes his pulse, and declares him hers for the night. Next, he is told to bar the door and hold her crown in both hands while she tests his obedience, and she reveals the court will pick a husband tomorrow.

How far it goes

Tension and command, not explicit detail. The scenes run on a game of rules in which one party may touch and the other may not, and the free episodes stay on orders, closeness and implication. They end with the Queen taking control, and the encounter itself stays beyond the last line of dialogue.

Who it suits

Suited to viewers who like power games with a crown on top: a queen who sets the terms and a guard who has to obey them. Episode 1 is worth a play for the way she turns a law meant to protect her into her own loophole.
