Damian Kane is the kind of boss who tells staff when they may leave. One employee is working late on a presentation under his watch, and the power gap between them is the whole premise. Money, rank and a possible promotion all sit on his side of the desk. The stakes are professional first and personal second: how far an employee will go to move up, and what a boss will ask for once the work is done. It is office fiction built around leverage.

These episodes are short and talk-driven. In the first, Kane tells his employee they cannot leave until a presentation is done; it gets finished, and he asks what he should be called, pressing until the formal title gives way to Damian. In the second, a blunt trade-off is spoken aloud: promotion in exchange for crossing a line with the boss. The employee starts to object, and Kane tells them to stop being shy. What you get is a dynamic, not a plot.
